Alphas - Lisi Harrison
Pages 1 - 261 ( Beginning to End)
In this story I felt connected to a specific character named Charlie Deery. Charlie Deery is a teenage girl genius who is in love with Darwin who is in as much love with her too. Darwin's mother, Shira Brazille, one of the most influential woman in the world opens the Alpha Academy. 100 of the worlds most talented teenage girls are going to live on Alpha Island for a year. Charlie's mother, Bee, is Shira's number 1 assistant and her closest friend. Charlie's biggest desire is to attend Alpha Academy, so Shira strikes a deal. Charlie may attend Alpha Academy if she breaks up with Darwin, & her mother quits her job. Charlie consulted her mother and was willing to let the opportunity pass her by, but then Bee said to Shira "I Quit,". Bee then turned to Charlie and said 'I know that you love Darwin but this is a once in a lifetime chance so you should take it,' Shira interrupted the conversation and said that when Charlie broke up with Darwin she was not allowed to mention the conversation or the deal. Charlie then broke up with Darwin, but then she was forced to see Darwin all around the island with his new girlfriend. The book ended abruptly leaving you wondering what was going to happen next. But unfortunately the sequel does not come out until Spring 2010.

GhostGirl- Tonya Hurley
Pages 1-328 (Beginning to end)
This story begins with the reader following a girl named Charlotte Usher who is just dying to become a part of the popular crowd and make the hottest, most popular guy, Damen Dylan, fall in love with her. She has one problem. No one knows who she is. Charlotte is the girl at school who always blended in, was just someone who was part of the scenery, took up space, wasted useful air. On the first day of school Charlotte realizes that nothing had changed from the past years. She never heard any ' How was your summer Charlotte?' or any 'Hey Charlotte!'when she was walking toward her locker. Charlotte had 1st hour with her crush Damen Dylan and unfortunately his super popular girlfriend Petula Kensington. To Charlotte's surprise and Petula's dismay Damen is assigned to be lab partners with Charlotte. Charlotte began to eat gummy bears when suddenly the gummy bear was stuck in her windpipe. Charlotte was unable to speak so she started trampling around the classroom trying to get someones attention but no one ever payed attention to Charlotte Usher. The bell rang and everyone filed out of the classroom including the teacher, leaving Charlotte to die.
Charlotte then returns as a ghost to fulfill her destiny at Hawthorne High in order to pass on to the "Other side". The reader follows Charlotte as she searches for redemption and succeeds.
I would recommend this book to anyone because it shows that even if you are ignored and alone you can achieve great things. I can not wait to read the sequel to this book, called Homecoming also by Tonya Hurley.
